The Burden Egypt Chapter 19 Part 1

19:1- The burden of Egypt - What is the Burden?
The Lord coming upon the clouds - bringing judgment upon Egypt
The clouds
How did God often come to speak to man? In a cloud (Ex 19:9; Ex 34:5; Nu 11:25; Nu 16:42; Mt 17:5)
How did God lead Israel through the wilderness? With a cloud -(Ex 13:21 - many others)
While in the wilderness, how did Israel know when they should set up camp and when they should journey on (Nu 9:17)
How will the Lord come in the future? In a cloud (Lu 21:27; Re 1:7; Re 14:140
What is a swift cloud often a sign of - A storm is approaching
Ec 11:4 - When certain clouds appear in the sky the reaping or harvesting ends for the day. -
That Day will bring Him that set upon the cloud with a sickle to reap His vengeance. Rev Re 14:15 with Joe 3:13
Psalm 104:1-4

The Heart Of Egypt -
Who hardened Pharaoh’s of Egypt‘s heart - The LORD - (Ex 4:21 - Ex 7:13; Ex 10:1)
Pharaoh also hardened his heart himself - (Ex 8:15,9:34)
God will sometimes hardened the heart of one who has hardened his own heart so he will not see Truth (Rom 1:28, Isa 6:9-10)
Isa 10:12 - The stout heart of Assyria will be punished - The heart of Assyria was strong set against the Lord
Isa 13:7 - The Day Of The Lord will bring God’s wrath upon all who have set their heart strong against the Lord
Eze 21:7 - 9: There will be no strong hearts or hands against the Lord - That Day

Egypt was a proud people the saw no reason to submit to a god that might be stronger than themselves. Their hardened hearts kept them from fearing The Lord - They had witnessed the omnipotence of The LORD through Moses and denied His authority - No fear of the LORD
What is the beginning of wisdom - Psalm 111:10 - The fear of the LORD
What is the beginning of foolishness - Prov 1:7 - not fearing the LORD
Those who fear The LORD - Know contentment - Psalm 34:9 - Psalm 23 - The fear of the Lord will lead to belief in The Lord - belief in The LORD will lead to salvation
How do you raise wise children - Psalm 34:11
Does foolishness seem to be increasing today - Why? Parents have stoped teaching their children the fear of the LORD

Isaiah 19:1 tells of the LORD coming in His Glory and melting their hardened hearts of stone. They will not be a proud people when this comes upon them.
What type of heart does God honor?
Ps 34:18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit
Ps 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
Ps 147:3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds
Mt 5:3 ¶ Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (not proud)

Isa 19:5-10, 15 - Terrible drought - even the sea and the rivers will fail- stop flowing - no fish for the fishermen, no water to flow into the fish ponds, no crops. Some will say what will we do there is no more flax or reeds to weave. The will not know what to do, no use to even try to work. (Isa 9:14-16) - There will nothing for the King to do, nothing for the wisemen to teach, and nothing for the young princes to do , nothing for the common masses to do.
Isa 19:11 - These great princes and wisemen are fools yet they tell Pharaoh to hear them because they are royal descendents and sons of the wisemen of old.- even though we have denied the truth - listen to us
Isa 19:12 - This that has come upon Egypt is a direct and purposed act of the LORD! A real wiseman will know when The LORD is at work - Why, because they fear HIS hand of judgment
Isa 19-13-14 - Everyone that Egypt chose to stay upon have become fools. (who seduced all of Egypt -
Isa 19:14 - The LORD brought a perverse spirit to deceive them [a third of the angels fell with Satan - God will used them to bring delusion upon wicked men]. Romans 1:28
Isa 19:15 - Nothing for all to do - everyone will be in the same situation - the rulers will be brought down to the level as those who they deceived.

The LORD is coming to Egypt on a swift cloud (19:1). Could it be that he is going to reveal Himself to Egypt through judgment and melt their heart of stone?

but not many years after this time it was divided into twelve kingdoms, between whom there were many and cruel wars.

A fierce king-Psammetichus, who being at first one of those twelve kings, waged war with the rest, and subdued them, and conquered all the land of Egypt and ruled it with rigour

Kingdom against kingdom; for although all Egypt was now one kingdom, and under one king, yet not many years after this time it was divided into twelve several kingdoms, between whom there were many and cruel wars, as is related by the historians of those times, and particularly by Herodotus and Diodorus.- Poole

this prophecy may have had its incipient fulfilment in some opressive king, like Psammetichus, who ascended the throne of Egypt during the reign of Manasseh; but it manifestly covers the whole history of Egypt till the time of its final conversion to God. - Adam Clark
