Chapter 22- The Nail In A Sure Place - The burden cut off

In the last lesson we studied Elkiakim as type of Jesus Christ, the Son OF God.
Isaiah 22:23 States” And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father's house.”
Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me. Isaih 45:21
Elkiakim will be placed in a secure position over the king’s palace. The Son Of God will in “That Day“ lay claim to all the glory, honor and worship due Him.

In Luke 4:6 the devil offered (and he did have them to offer) the power and glory of this world to Jesus if He would worship him (the devil). Jesus’s answerer “Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.”
In “That Day” Christ will return and claim the worship due Him (He always had the glory and power)
Read Colossians 2:13-15. The Law was nailed to the cross of Calvary when Christ was crucified blotting them out. Christ’s death, burial and resurrection were all done openly and the victory was won then. But Christ has not claimed all of spoils due Him as the victor.
When He ascended He sat down on His throne at the right hand of The Father. Christ now has all the glory of the Fathers house (Isaiah 22:24 with John 17:5) In That Day he shall return in that glory.
Our burdens and all those who have accepted Him as savior have been lifted already.

Isaiah 22:25 - In that day when Elkiakim replaces Shebna the nail of Shebna rule will be removed and burdens which he placed upon the house of David will ended and blotted out, cut off.
Reread Colossians 2:13-17, with Matthew 5:18, Luke 24:44
Acts 13:29 And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.
When Christ was nailed to the cross and shed His blood for the remission of the sins of the world He fulfilled the law blotting the out handwriting of the ordinances(Col 2:14, Mat 5:18 with Exodus 32:16, 24:28, Duet 10:2)
The tablets of stone were heavy it took a special man to carry them to the people (Moses), it took men lifting two poles to carry the ark containing them through the wilderness it took a superhuman man a God-man to carry them to the cross.
For all who have accepted Christ as their savior, their burden are lifted at Calvary. For those who choose to deny Christ and place themselves back under the law there is no salvation only Hell as their future.
Think about this: Colossians says the handwriting of the ordinances were blotted out. So today what is written on those tablets of stone? _________________. When choosing to remain under the law, there can be no salvation in the empty law only weight of stones.
* What about in “That Day” of Isaiah 22:25 - What is still nailed to the cross - Christ? ______ The blotted out ordinances, the empty law spoken of in Col 2: 13-17 that the nation of Israel has chosen to remain under. When the One who returns in the full glory of God to claim all the spoils of the victory of His resurrection and removes the burden of the empty ordinances and the burden of the iniquity of Israel. The burdens placed upon Israel bu the nations of the world will be cut off. [see #1 on the back]
Isa 44:8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any

Christ bore the sins of the man to the cross, burden of sins we bore were lifted at Calvary.
The burdens bore by the nation of Israel will not be broken until “That Day”

Matthew 18:11 & Luke 19:10 states “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
