Chapter 24 Part 2 - The Curse
Jer 25:11 And this
whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these
nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years. - God was
going to make the land empty and desolate for 70 years.
Isa 24:6 Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that
dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth
are burned, and few men left.(only the poorest sort were left -
2Kings 24:14)
What curse is associated with the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem?
Genesis 3:14 The curse of the serpent - Revelation 12:9, 20:2
Genesis 3:17- The ground for Adam’s sake his sin caused the earth to
bring forth weed and Adam had to toil to eat. (Romans 8:18-23) The
earth was cursed but Adam was saved alive and had to toil to survive
in a fallen land.
Ge 8:21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in
his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's
sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth;
neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have
done.
22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and
heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
The true purpose of the flood was not to destroy the wicked man but
to save man from being completely polluted by the demon corrupted
genetics. .
I (the LORD) will never curse the earth to save and preserve mankind
or punish the earth to save man alive.
He will destroy what is on the earth to punish man, as he did with
Adam’s sin, in the Tribulation and after the 1000 year Kingdom.
Genesis 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him
that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be
blessed - curse on nations that bring hardship upon Israel.
Read Deuteronomy 4:1-9 There was not a nation that God was with like
it was with Israel
Deuteronomy 11:28 And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments
of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command
you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.
Deuteronomy 27:26; Joshua 24:15
Could the real curse of disobedience and unbelief be inability to
worship the true God and have a heart that is turned to the worship
of other gods. When the Jews did not worship The LORD, they turned
their worship to the gods of those they were to run out of “the
land”. The LORD took their worship that was to be exclusively for
Him and gave it to other Gods - who could not hear, could not bless,
protect them and could not could not save them.
Old Testament is the New Testament concealed. The New Testament is
the Old Testament revealed.
The Physical things point to The Spiritual things
Genesis 3:17-18 - The curse of the ground------Matthew 13 The
Parable of the sower.
God cursed the ground for Adam’s sake we usually only think about
the thorns and weeds the ground now produces - it’s fruit and the
labor it takes man to produce food to eat. Matthew 13 reveals the
truth of the physical curse of the ground. In Matthew 13 the seed
sown is God’s word. God’s word is sown in the hearts of man. We
understand that most of who hear God’s word will never have a heart
turned to the Lord, in fact many who hear God’s word deny Him in
their heart and their hearts become hardened even more.
Genesis 3:17-18 is the picture that man’s heart will naturally
produce only that which is corrupt.
Ge 6:5, Mark 7: 17-23, Pr 12:25
We can not naturally do that which is pleasing to God; it takes
supernatural cultivation of what God plants in our hearts to bring
forth that which can be offered to Him.
Israel denied, chose not the believe God and hearken to His judges
and prophets
“You are not going to obey me or believe me so you are not going to
be able to worship me. Jeremiah 7:9-10 - Their lack of belief and
obedience led to the land being empty and desolate for 70 years and
will; lead to God making this earth empty during the Tribulation.
The Land and this whole Earth groaning in disbelief and it will
until He claims the worship due Him in That Day. - God emptied the
land of their worship of HIM -
Le 19:12 And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt
thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD. - Ex 19:8; Ex
24:3,7; De 5:27; 26:17; Josh 1:16 - - The false Oath
Judah trusted in false prophesies - Remember the Jews thought they
should be above the punishment of the LORD - Jer 5:31; 7:4; 14:13
Jeremiah 14:14 - What God said about these prophets
(Read Malachi) - Jeremiah 7:9-10
Judah chose not to believe the prophesies of Isaiah and Jeremiah but
chose to believe the prophets who stated only what the people wanted
to here. (Does this sound like the seeker-sensitive movement of
today,)
Did Eve choose to believe the voice of God? - Adam chose to listen
to the voice of Eve - and the curse followed. Ever since Adam chose
not to obey God, the natural heart of man is a heart of disbelief -
the unnatural path: ”Ye must be born again”
2Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure
sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to
themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away
their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
Read Jeremiah 7:16-20
Isaiah 24:1 - The LORD maketh the earth empty - empty of His
presence - today the earth (except for Christians who are in Him and
Him in them) is still under the curse and is empty of His presence.

that is fastened in the sure place be removed, and be cut down, and

Revelation 22:3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of
God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve
him: |
