Chapter 29 - Part 2 - Woe, you can't hide from The LORD

Isaiah 29:15 Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?

In Isaiah 28:15 The LORD reveled the hearts of those who were in power in Jerusalem when He said Because ye have said, We have made covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves. They thought their willful sinning would hide them the 70 year desolation, That death spoken of in Isaiah 22:14

Their misconception of the vision of being God's chosen people - Our sins hide from God, He does not see us therefore we can continue in our iniquity and His death will not come upon us.

Could the counsel be death and hell will only come upon those who believe and fail. If you choose not to believe God and hide from Him in sin, death and hell need not to be feared because they are a refuge from God's sight and judgment. (Remember big game hunter in Ch. 29 Part1 - Note 2)

Man seems believe death hides one from God's Judgment (Luke 23:30, Revelation 6:16) - He can's see through the rocks

Read Psalm 94:1-7; Psalm 10:1-11;

Jeremiah 23:24 Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.

 Ezekiel 8:7-12; Ezekiel 9:9-10

Isaiah 29:16 - Judah has turned God's Vision upside down. Their counsel was totally opposite of The counsel of The LORD. Can the creation correct the Creator? (See Isaiah 45:9)

Isaiah 29:17-24 - "That Day" brings life after death - The LORD's promise to Abraham Isaiah 29:17-24

The reason God offers life after death to Judah and Israel is because he loved Abraham.

See Hebrews 6:13

2Ki 13:23 And the LORD was gracious unto them, and had compassion on them, and had respect unto them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from his presence as yet.

The As Yet- Amos 9:1-10 Amos delivered Lord's message to Israel (northern Kingdom) as Isaiah began his ministry (Amos 1:1 & Isaiah 1:1)

[In Amos 9:1 the lintel of the door this could be the door posts of the entrance to the temple where the alter was. They had polluted His alter with unfit sacrifices in disbelief. The first time a intel and door posts were to be struck it was in Exodus 12, the first Passover, thy were struck with hyssop that had been dipped in the Passover lamb's blood - God's grace and salvation offered to His people. In Amos 9:1 the lintel and door posts shaken with the anger of The Lord bringing judgment to those who rejected His grace. Exodus is The LORD's salvation shown, Amos 9:1 consequences of His salvation rejected.

The promise of life after death  Amos 9:11-15

While Amos is to Israel we have seen that Judah would suffer the same fate - death (judgment followed by life after death to His remnant who believe.
