Chapter 53 - The Arm of The LORD Revealed

The last lesson ended with this thought - Wake up Jerusalem and see what you have been missing - This lesson is building to Chapter 53 that starts “Who will believe out report?”
Think about this The LORD Isaiah saw in Chapter 6 was the same LORD Moses saw in Matthew 17:1-2. Think what Isaiah felt when he saw the nail scared hands and the pierced side and the marks of the whip and thorns for the first time. Do you think he might have been in awe of the so great love The LORD had for mankind. Do you think Isaiah might have expressed - “and You went through that for me?!”

Isaiah 53:1 ¶ Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?

What report - Chapters 51 & 52 - The LORD Judah wanted - I AM HE saith the LORD.

The arm of the LORD - The LORD, The Holy One Of Israel, Jesus Christ (see 51:9)

Isaiah 6:9&10 - As a nation the heart of the people will not allow them to understand what they hear or perceive what they see, the LORD had cursed their hearts - As a nation the answer no one has believed.

Our report - God The Father, God The Son & God The Spirit together from creation showing "themself" through the "Strong Arm Of The LORD". The type of LORD they were looking for in Isa 51: 9-10

The LORD declared I AM the arm you are looking for. Their cursed heart s would not allow them to see HIM as HE is, The I AM.

Consider this - The Lord in Isaiah has identified Himself as The Maker, The Creator, The One who answers to no one. Remember the prayer of Hezekiah (Isa 37:16 O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, that dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth.) Isaiah saw Him in His glory and was coming apart

Isa 51:15 But I am the LORD thy God, that divided the sea, whose waves roared: The LORD of hosts is his name - The strong arm of the LORD - who can stand against HIM. - This is the LORD we have seen throughout Isaiah until Isa 52:14 As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:

Who is going to believe the report that The LORD Creator and the one seen In Isaiah 52:14 as one marred beyond recognition are both The LORD, The Redeemer of Israel, The strong arm of The LORD?.

Oh by the way if you do not believe this, surely ye shall not be established. (Isaiah 7:9)

Now Read 53:2-12

Who is He being revealed to here in chapter 53; Does that seem to speaking of The LORD we described above.

When you read this chapter we realize it is about Christ, as the Son of God, and His walk to the cross, being beaten and humiliated for to justify many by baring their iniquities. - The Jews standing around the cross watching Jesus hang there should have known what was going on. Isaiah chapter 53 should of come into their minds and they should have proclaimed our Messiah, who is taking away our sins. As a nation they once again rejected His offer of comfort. This is not the Messiah the Jews wanted, the messiah they wanted was the strong arm of the Lord, coming in vengeance, breaking down unbreakable walls, opening paths through uncrossable seas, killing their 185,000 enemies, not one who would be beaten, bruised and humiliated. .

Luke 22:67 Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:

John 4:48 Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.

1Co 14:22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

2Corinthians 4:3-4 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

2Co 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. Read Isaiah 6:9-10

Consider these two verses

Isaiah 51:5 My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust.
Isaiah 56:1 ¶ Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed

In verse 53:11 - The LORD shall look upon The Son Of God and His sacrifice and the payment He made will satisfy the LORD's demand.

1John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
1John 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

The LORD showed the nation of Israel the exact Messiah they wanted, the arm of the LORD. They rejected Him. The LORD offered the Messiah as the lamb slain as the propitiation for their sins - They rejected Him He showed then that He is the LORD they wanted and also the Messiah they needed.

In "That Day" what Messiah will the remnant believe and follow? The LORD coming to avenge his people

Joel 2:11 And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

Zepaniah 1:14 ¶ The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.

Revelation 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

*The remnant will come to the strong arm of The LORD who will have the nail scared hands and marks of the crown of thorns upon His head and the marks of the whip upon His back

The Jews will be avenged by the Strong Arm Of The LORD but salvation will come through the One who went to cross - The Lord Jesus Christ can claim I AM He to both.

Did the Apostles believe the report? What was their reaction when hey saw Christ upon the cross? What sign did Thomas require before he believed? Could the nail prints that Thomas required be why the remnant will believe in The LORD when He returns at the end of the Tribulation?

Today it is either accept the Lamb from the foundation of the world saying "Thank you for all you went through for me." or stand before The Strong Arm Of The LORD in judgment - saying "And you went through all that for me, and I was such a fool to not to believe."

Is Satan saying "Don't believe, don't believe. Do you really think The LORD God Creator would allow Himself to be so humiliated for someone like you?
