Chapter 56

Let's look at the LORD's message in the last few chapters

Isaiah 56:1a ¶ Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: .....
Ge 18:19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
2Sa 8:15 ¶ And David reigned over all Israel; and David executed judgment and justice unto all his people.

1Ki 10:9 Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because the LORD loved Israel for ever, therefore made he thee king, to do judgment and justice.

Pr 21:3 ¶ To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice

1Sa 15:22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

Eze 45:9 ¶ Thus saith the Lord GOD; Let it suffice you, O princes of Israel: remove violence and spoil, and execute judgment and justice, take away your exactions from my people, saith the Lord GOD

From these verses we can conclude that the men The LORD placed in leadership over His people were to do judgment and justice. They were to rule in these things. This is how His people were to live.

Keeping the Sabbath was one of the Ten Commandments- To The Jews (not the church) - The Sabbath was to be a day where the concerns of the world would not get in the way of focusing upon the LORD - giving this day to The LORD this wasn't a sacrifice it was a time of blessing.

Isaiah 56:2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.

Verse 1 see Psalm 119: 1-6

Ps 89:14 Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face

Could it be that when you truly focus upon the LORD you will keep judgment and do justice?

*Why does The LORD command Judah to keep judgment and do justice? His salvation is near His righteousness is about to be revealed to them.

Isaiah 56:1b ¶ Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.

Isa 46:13 I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory [Selah is coming to His people]

Isa 9:7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

The Kingdom of The LORD will be established with His judgment and justice. Everything the LORD does is within HIS perfect judgment and justice.

He revealed His righteousness -In Cyrus on the throne ruling in righteousness & truth- In The One who was seen on Chapter 53 . --- 56:1 He is going to reveal them again.

What was the sign that His righteous servant was ready to offer them comfort - Babylon was in humiliation (Chapters 46 & 47) -

When Babylon is in humiliation again - In That Day - When He splits the mountain and the remnant of Israel escape alive into the Millennial Kingdom His salvation will be seen and as He rules for the 1000 years His righteousness will be see by all who come before His throne as He rules with judgment and justice.

56:2 - blessed id the one who truly focuses on The LORD - NOW!

Verses 3-8 The Jews were to accept the strangers (gentiles) the chose to come to join them in worship of The LORD. The Gentiles  who joined themselves to the LORD could expect to receive the eternal blessings offered to the Jews who worshipped The LORD in truth. They could claim Him as their LORD just as the Jews. This was another point where Judah would contend with their Maker - The LORD is the God of the Jews not the gentiles. See why some of the Jews believed Jesus was controlled by  a devil when He stated in John 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

But wait it is point to That Day - could it be that when the gentiles come to Jerusalem to be before the throne of The LORD - they are to be treated with judgment and justice by the Jews (who were to keep the Sabbath).

Verses 9-12 contrasts the strangers who join themselves to The LORD with those who despise judgment and justice .

These verses sound like the Jerusalem before Babylon entered (Daniel 1:1), Jerusalem during the captivity of Babylon (Deuteronomy 28: 53) . The enemies were at the gate ready to enter Jerusalem. Jeremiah 12:9

Jeremiah's ministry begins before Babylon enters Jerusalem.

Beast Of the Field -

But if it is about That Day - could this be Jerusalem during the tribulation period. - What about Revelation 20: 7-10 - The beasts come to devour the saints once again. Could some of the Jews in Jerusalem doubt the One on the throne and His salvation - again.

These beasts have always been around since Cain killed Able.

1Pe 5:8 ¶ Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Isa 31:4 For thus hath the LORD spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.

Psalm 22:11-21 They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.- What soon followed - The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want.

The Sleeping Watchmen - The Priests and leaders Of Judah - The dogs of Judah - Shepherds learned they could use dogs to do something they could not - drive the sheep even right to the place of slaughter. Dogs left alone can drive sheep onto the rocky cliff or into the thorns and thistles.

Micah 3:11; 7: 1-5 - Describes them as those who would be trusted.  Ezekiel 34:2, Zechariah 11:17; Jeremiah 23:1 -

Matthew 15:14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch  They did not keep judgment and did not do justice. Matthew 23

Isaiah 22:12-14 - It is the priest who slay the sacrifices -

Those who were to lead the people in worshipping The LORD - drove them to the slaughter. The were asleep on their watch and the beasts could come in.

Who is responsible if heresy comes into our church, who is responsible to see that the congregation is not driven to error by the leaders of our church? Do you understand the awesome responsibility the pastor has is deciding who speaks from the pulpit?

Chapter 57 - the work of the beasts and the beasts identified.
