Chapter 59 - Redemption made possible

Verse 8 The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.

Isa 48:22 There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked.
Isa 57:21 There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked

Isa 56:1 ¶ Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed

Isa 9:7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Verses 1-8 describe the filthy rags of the Jews - wicked

Verses 9-15 The acknowledgment of His people. verse 15 ends with the same thought of Chapter 57:1 the beasts want to devour those who seek to do keep judgment and do justice, those with an upright heart. The Jews seem to be confessing that they were uncomfortable around those who seek to depart from evil and try to stop their repentance for evil. The one who desires to turn from his evil  ways (repentance) becomes prey for those who choose to remain covered by their sins (Isaiah 30:1) These are the beasts seen in chapter 56 and identified in 57. This action on part of his people displeased The LORD.

Verse 16: The first he - could this be the one who want is repentant. He saw the conditions of the priest. the watchman dogs and saw they could not intercede for him (the roll of the priests going to God on behalf of the people).

The second HE - The LORD arm brought salvation to the repentant one - accounted HIS righteousness unto him. Read Psalm 98.

*Notice the one who repents in verse 15 received salvation  from the arm in verse 16

Verse 17: HE, the arm, comes ready for battle

His righteousness is his breastplate

Isa 5:16 But the LORD of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness

Da 9:7 O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee.

His salvation is His helmet

Ps 3:8 Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.

Under His breastplate of righteousness are cloths of vengeance - the beasts preying upon the repentant beware

Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord

His righteousness and vengeance is cloked by His zeal

Isa 37:32 For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the LORD of hosts shall do this

Eze 5:13 Thus shall mine anger be accomplished, and I will cause my fury to rest upon them, and I will be comforted: and they shall know that I the LORD have spoken it in my zeal, when I have accomplished my fury in them.

Here is the one who will be the intercessor for the repentant one.

Verses 18-19: His vengeance upon the beasts

The picture - The Righteous LORD of salvation will zealously bring His vengeance upon the beasts seeking to devour the repentant remnant of His people.

many of which are Jews themselves.

What becomes possible when sin is acknowledged? -  -  -  Isaiah 59:20 And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.

The LORD's promise to those to choose to turn from evil ways and seek the Just Judge -  Isaiah 59:21 As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever. His spirit is the proof of the eternality of His salvation.

*REPENTANCE MUST COME BEFORE REDEMPTION!!! Do not fall prey to a gospel that says that God understands and His love will save you just as you are - comfortable in your sin. Wickedness must be acknowledged by the wicked - that's me - Redemption can only come through grace - That's HIM but only after repentance.
