Chapter 60 - When does redemption come to His people?

Chapter 58 Teaches redemption comes when they get the fast right

Chapter 59 teaches the redemption of the Jews following their repentance.60:1 ¶ Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.  This verse shows the what the outcome of choosing the covering of His Spirit (59:21). When do they repent, when does redemption come to His people.

60:1-2a Gross Darkness - The Shadow Of Death - Jeremiah 13:16 Give glory to the LORD your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness.

Revelation 16:10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain

Psalms 107:14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.

Revelation 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

2Peter 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; - Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. There is definitely as association with darkness and judgment. - The gross darkness is the Tribulation

The sign of the coming redemption of the Jews is the darkness (physical and spiritual darkness) that comes upon the earth and people upon the earth.

Out of this darkness the glory of The LORD will settle upon His people.

 

60:2b - Their light will be the glory of the LORD  - Isa 58:8 ¶ Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward -

Isa 56:1 ¶ Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.

 

60:3 The Gentiles Come to the light Isa 60:3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. - The Gentiles will come to the Righteousness of the LORD seen shining through His chosen people - a nations of redeemed Jews. During the Millennial Kingdom of Christ all nation will come to worship in Jerusalem. Zechariah 14:16 ¶ And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.

60:4-14  - Israel served for a 1000 years - Gentiles go from hating the Jerusalem and the Jews to knowing to serving them and worshiping at the feet of the LORD. The Gentiles will know where to come - Where the Jews are - Where the Glory of the LORD shines.

60:12 For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted. - Zechariah 14:17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.

Chapter 59 teaches the redemption of the Jews following their repentance. Chapter 60 is about the future of His people.

 

60:13-22 The eternal excellency  of HIS people. The everlasting light that shines upon them. - The New Heaven and The New Earth - Revelation 21-22

Isa 60:16 Thou shalt also suck the milk of the Gentiles, and shalt suck the breast of kings: and thou shalt know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

Isa 49:23 And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me
