Isaiah Chapter 6 Part 1- Isaiah’s Call
Verse 1 - In the year King Uzziah Died - Strength (of the Lord {applied}) 2 Chronicles 26:3 - Uzziah died a leper in a house set apart for his sickness because he broke God’s law of temple service - priests only.
Saw the Lord - [John 12:41] - Saw Jesus Christ in his glory upon His throne. I believe this was not just a dream but Isaiah was given a rare glimpse of Christ in his Glory sitting upon the throne in the Most Holy Place of Heaven. John 17:4-5
High and lifted up - His throne was above all else and would be the focus of all else in the temple
Train fill the temple - His royal robes - Christ’s Glory filled the temple( Ex 40:34; 1Kings 8:10)

The Most Holy Place.
The tabernacle in the wilderness and the temple built during Solomon reign was divided in two sections by a thick curtain. The Holy place was where the priest served daily. The Most Holy Place was where the throne was. It was the mercy seat sitting upon the Ark of the covenant. On each side of the mercy seat was a cherubim. In the Ark was a copy of the Ten Commandments and the rod of Moses.
*Note God’s mercy is base upon His Law, His Word and His Power.
* Who dwells on the mercy seat among the cherubims - Psalm 80:1 & John 10:14

Revelation Chapter 4:1-4
John is taken to Heaven and saw this throne - This is the sight we will see after the rapture. John saw the church already there (24 elders). [Our presence at the throne of Christ is a sure thing]

The most holy place in the tabernacle and the Temple were not really large places but the most Holy Place in Heaven can seat “who so ever will may come”.

Verse 2 - The seraphims (name from burning, fire) an order of angel ( probably seen in Eze 1:11-and Rev 4:2
who declared the Thrice Holiness of the Lord. Ready to serve - carry out judgment (fire)
Standing above the throne or temple - waiting for commands from the one who is sitting upon the throne
Two wings covered their eyes -in reverence, shielding from the glory of the LORD, you can’t look God in the eye, only the Lord’s face is worthy to be worshipped.
Two wings covered their feet - (whole bodies) - the lower part of their body would be covered ( secret parts of the body) - showing modesty, chastity, keeping their ways covered pure before the Lord to be able to serve Him.
Two wings they flew - you can’t serve standing still - declaring the thrice holiness of the Lord God is above all and they were able to quickly carry out the command of The Lord.

Verses 3- 4 - they constantly declared holy, holy , holy is the Lord. Not timidly but with power and authority.

Verse 5 - Isaiah saw himself compared to the Lord and he was he was almost about to die. Here Isaiah was allowed to look into the most holy pace of the temple and see the glory of God, this usually meant death. Isaiah was facing death. But we will see God’s mercy next week
