Chapters 15 &16 Part 1 Moab
Genesis 12:1-4 ¶ Now the LORD had said unto Abram,
Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy
father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and
make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless
them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee
shall all families of the earth be blessed.
¶ So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went
with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed
out of Haran.
Genesis 19:36-17 Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by
their father. And the firstborn bare a son, and called his name
Moab: the same is the father of the Moabites unto this day.
The Moabites were mighty men (Deut 2:8-11) possessed lands once
occupied by giants. They were under God’s promise to Lot so they
were allowed to keep the land they had taken.
As Israel traveled through the wilderness Moab would not let them
pass through and tried to have them cursed. Moab also led the
Israelites into sin and whoredom with the daughters of Moab and and
God punished the men of Israel and many were put to death. Moab was
at odds with Israel and they even ruled overt Israel for 18 years
droning the times of the judges (Jg 3:13-14). (Because of Israel’s
sin)
(Israel traveled in the plains of Moab several times. It was were

Amos 2:1-3 participated in human sacrifice (2Kings 3:18-27)
In Chapter 16:1-5 Moab is given counsel to be a heaven and
protection to God’s people. Moab paid tribute to King David in lambs
and here they were counseled to pay them again in terms of
protection and in turn they would be able to worship in the true
tabernacle.
The burden of Moab is their destruction - Israel 16:14 But now the
LORD hath spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of an
hireling, and the glory of Moab shall be contemned, with all that
great multitude; and the remnant shall be very small and feeble.
