36 & 37 Part 2 - Hezekiah's Wisdom Part 2 -  The One he chose to stay upon and Why

Isaiah 37:15-16 And Hezekiah prayed unto the LORD, saying, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, that dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth.

Psalm 80:1 <<To the chief Musician upon Shoshannimeduth, A Psalm of Asaph.>> Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth.

This prayer covers the Creator, the God of not only Israel of all the earth.

Hezekiah knew there was no real choice to make - There is only One God, One Lord, One Faith, One Spirit  - He chose to stay upon the God of oneness. No one else comes close.

Why did Hezekiah know to do this?

His father Ahaz was the most wicked king Judah had (in my opinion). What broke the chain of between his father and Hezekiah?

1Corinthians 14:22 -  Prophesy is for them that believe - Hezekiah believed.

1Corinthians 14:22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

Obviously king Ahaz believed not - he refused to accept and learn from the Word of the LORD. To him all the writings  Moses, Samuel, David & Solomon; all the recorded history of the judges and kings that came before him; and the prophesies delivered directly to him through Isaiah, Hosea and Micah were foolishness

I believe Hezekiah knew these words the LORD delivered to Solomon by night after He filled the temple with His Glory - When I bring judgment upon Israel - that 2Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

In his first year, suddenly Hezekiah did just that. He knew he could believe the one who dwellest between the cherubims After Ahaz their land needed healing that only could come through turning back to The LORD.

Hezekiah knew the turning had to start with himself and there was only place to start - Psalm 119

Psalm 119:1-2 ALEPH. Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.
Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.

Psalm 119:9-10 BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.

2Kinga 18:6 For he clave to the LORD, and departed not from following him, but kept his commandments, which the LORD commanded Moses

[this included honoring his father Ahaz - a wicked, wicked king]

Ex 20:2-3 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. - Precept number one

Numers 14:9 Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.

Ps 115:11 Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.

Ps 118:5-6 I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me.

Ps 125:1 ¶ <<A Song of degrees.>> They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.

Pr 29:25 ¶ The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe

He chose to believe the Word Of The LORD -

Isaiah 7:7 Thus saith the Lord GOD, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.

Isaiah 1:6-9 - The hold Assyria had on Judah would not end until the false worship Ahaz brought in would be removed from before The LORD

The faith Hezekiah learned did not die with him - Prophesy is for those who believe.

His son Manasseh - a wicked wicked king when there seemed to be no help he remember who hie father chose to stay upon to stay upon.2Chronicles 33:12-16

Daniel 3:16-18 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up

They must have gotten the first precept right. Could it be they knew of Hezekiah?

2Timothy 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.  Paul trusted in the same LORD as Hezekiah, Daniel ect.

Prophesy is for those who believe!

Hebrews 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. - When you are there you better have The Spirit.
