Chapters 41 & 42 Part 3 The Blind Servant

Last lessons we studied the righteous servant. Cyrus anointed by The LORD to set Judah and Israel on a strait path back to the temple in Jerusalem where they should worship The True God through sacrifice (remember and repenting their sin)- a picture of John The Baptist making the path strait through repenting.

Cyrus the righteous king that subdued the enemies of Israel and the gentiles come to here his law - a picture of The Lord Jesus Christ anointed by God to be King of Kings ruling in righteousness and the gentiles come before Him to learn of his law.

Isaiah 42:18- tells of the blind and deaf servant.

Isaiah 43:8-10 Israel was called to serve The LORD by bringing the message "I The LORD  am God and I alone, there is non beside me

Isaiah 41:8 But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend.

Deuteronomy 7:6; 10:15; 14:2;

Ezekiel 12:1-2 ¶ The word of the LORD also came unto me, saying, Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they are a rebellious house.

Isaiah 6:9-11

True blindness is when the chosen of the LORD do not see Him in all that He does

True deafness is when the chosen of The LORD do not hear the truth contained in His word he delivered.

They saw the wondrous hand of God leading them out of Egypt and in the wilderness but they did not see what God was doing.

The words of the prophets were heard but they did not hear what was being said. Hearing the words is not the same as hearing the meaning.

Malachi 1:1 ¶ The burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi.- Israel chose not to believe The

Word which led to disobeying the Word which led to being under the punishment of The Word. Choosing not to believe or see does not change The Word. Today when someone denies the Gospel they are choosing eternity in Hell over Eternity with The Lord. They are choosing to remain under the burden of the word of the LORD instead of the liberty of the word of the LORD. The word of the LORD always contain the burden but it also contained the liberty of His graciousness for those who believe.

Israel God's blind and deaf servant in the past and in the present until "That Day" when they will stay only upon the Holy One Os Israel.- Isaiah 10:20

The rest of Chapters 41 & 42 - The glory Of The Lord over shadows everything the man is or does or makes.

Who chose Cyrus 100 years before he was born - Isaiah 41:4 - the same one that raise up Christ

Who created all things - Isaiah 42:5

The world says God look at all we have done see how great we are, how we worked together to build are Isaiah 41:5-7

But Israel the Gentile nations have accomplished great things, ay least in their one eyes and in your eyes, but you Israel I have chosen, you are my servant  Isaiah 41:8-9, I have not cast you out (as you may believe.  I AM is not done with you!

Isaiah 41:21-23 - The LORD demands an answer from mankind - the answer He demands - you show me what has happened and also what is going to happen. When man can declare what is going to come in the future than The LORD will know that they too are Gods.

The truth about mankind - Isaiah 41:24 - choosing anyone or anything ahead of The LORD is an abomination what mankind boasts of and glories in apart form The LORD is vanity and confusion - Remember God is not a God of confusion.

Chapter 42 ends with Who has brought all the hardships upon Israel? The LORD. Israel never associated the hardships with their iniquity and the chastening of the LORD to bring them to see HIM.

Look At their blindness

Israel witnessed the many plagues The LORD brought upon Egypt and how the Lord led them to the ed Sea, but all they could see was the Egyptian army coming o destroy them.

They saw the fire leading them at night away from Egypt, but all they saw was that the LORD brought them into the wilderness to destroy them.

They saw the giants in the land but not the promise that the land was for their taking.

Think of David - he saw the hand of the LORD over and over defending and protection him, but as king he saw Bathsheba.

The Jews looked at the sacrifices and saw the cost, labor but the never saw the Lord of the sacrifice.

The LORD showed love and protection of  the Jews over and over in miraculous ways but they never saw Him as one worthy to be loved, believed or obeyed.

Matthew 12 The Scribes & Pharisees: the blind leading the blind

12:1-2 The Pharisees saw them break the law of the Sabbath - But they never saw The Lord of the Sabbath

12:6 - They saw the temple but not the greater than the temple

12: 9-14 - they saw him heal but they never saw him as the Healer

12:22-28 - They saw the devil being cast out but they did not see the One with the power.

John 9:16; Luke 6:39;

But remember 41:9-20 - Fear not o Judah.  Why declare comfort - Isaiah 29:18

Chapter 43 The One who opens the eyes of the blind.
