Isaiah Chapter 7: Commissioning Wickedness

When we looked at the ultimate purpose of the church (both local and collective) (Isaiah 65:1 with Deuteronomy 32:20-22 and Romans 10:19-21 & 11:7-16) we determined that purpose is to promote the Jews to jealously. We are to live lives that when seen by the Jews they become jealous of our relationship with their LORD, The Maker and Redeemer of Israel one of the primary ways this is to be done is by telling the world about HIM (Matthew 28:16-20) this is often called "The Great Commission". Why is this term used? Many would say because of the scope, the responsibility and the importance of taking the Gospel throughout the world. But when the term "The Great Commission" is used in this way then it becomes about our work, but it is not about us it is about Him. I contend the "The Great Commission" is the great price Christ paid to commission our service.

The The business community Commission is used this way.

Commission

Hiring an outside (outside house) group to do a job that the in house source can do.

The price paid to procure their service

The job which they are to do (mission)

Giving them the authority to carry out the mission

Equipping them to carry out the mission

Bonus for completing the mission

All of this is contracted to be completed in a specific time period

Israel is the "in house" group chosen by God to proclaim His name among the Gentiles. But they refuse the covering of His spirit and chose to be covered by their sins (Isaiah 30:1). They were not equipped to carry out a worldwide mission.

Jesus Christ was given the authority by The Father to pay a great price upon the cross to commission the church (the out of house group), which is built upon the foundational statement " ...Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God" in Matthew 16:16 to take His name among the Gentiles and so a few Jews will be saved (Romans 11:14). Could it be that the Church Age is really not about the Church but about the price paid to commission the church to provoke the Jews to jealously so some of them will be saved?

Christ has commissioned group to a holy calling. But what happens when wickedness is commissioned.

Isaiah Chapter 7

The northern kingdom of Israel commissioned Syria to come against and defeat Judah and Jerusalem so they (Israel) could place their king upon the throne.

Syria (wickedness) was joined with Israel (northern kingdom) which led to the fall of Israel.

Ahaz was told by The LORD that Jerusalem would not be entered (7:7) by them and if he did not believe this he would not be established.

Ahaz hired or commissioned Assyria to fight for him and Assyria demanded a great tribute from King Ahaz and his son Kind Hezekiah and both stripped the palace and temple of  the gold to pay Assyria and they did what Israel and Syria could not do: spoil Jerusalem. In both cases wickedness was commissioned and actually became dominate and ruled The LORD's chosen.

What about the Church or individual Christians who commission wickedness to come in? Wickedness can become dominate and destroy our ability to carry out our ultimate purpose of provoking the Jews to jealously so some of them will be saved. Could Satan be seeking to devour our church to stop us from provoking the Jews to jealousy so some will not be saved.

See why Satan wants the teaching that God is through with the Jews and the church has replaced them and His promises will be fulfilled through the Church is so dangerous - the church age becomes only about the Church and not about The LORD, the Maker and redeemer of Israel redeeming His chosen people.
