Dealing With Egypt - Burden Of Egypt Ch.19

Abram (Abraham) was born in the Ur of the Chaldees (Chaldea - Babylon) . His father (Terah) took him and Lot [son of Haran (died)] and other children and moved to the land of Canaan around the city - Haran.
Abraham dwelt there until the LORD told him to leave his father’s house and his kindred. Abram left as the LORD told him but took Lot with him. [Was this in obedience to the LORD - no Lot was his kin and this did cause Abraham problems later.] God now (Gen 12 1-3) promises bless Abram and to make a great nation of Abram and bless them who blesses him and curse him the curses him and bless the whole world through him.
Abraham goes back into Canaan to Sichem in the plain of Moreh. God promised to give this land to Abram and he built an Alter to the LORD. He continued to journey (Why?) south until a famine came and he went to Egypt.
Abram lies to Pharaoh of Egypt about Sarah not being his wife Sarah is taken to the house of Pharaoh and god sends plagues upon Egypt and they return Sarah to Abram.
Abram lies bring a curse from God upon Egypt
Abram (Gen 13 leaves Egypt.
Abraham continues to travel - lies again about (Gen 20) Sarah to the king of Gerar (Ablimelech - king of the Philistines ). He takes Sarah from Abraham, God warns Ablimelech (in a dream) he returns Sarah to Abraham and also gives sheep, oxen and servants because he recognized Abraham as a prophet (God stopped the lie before He had to curse Ablimelech) and Abraham travels on
Hagar Sarah’s handmaid took her son by Abraham and fled and took a wife for him out of Egypt
In chapter 26 Isaac (Abraham son by Sarah the son of promise) living among the Philistines another famine God stops him from going to Egypt and has him remain in Geher - the land of the Philistines
The next time Egypt is seen is when Joseph is taken there - you know that story how God blessed Egypt because of Joseph - Egypt feeds and saves Israel and his sons from starvation.
The children of Israel flourish in Egypt for 400 years until God sends slavery to the Jews and plagues upon Egypt so they will leave Egypt (with the wealth of Egypt)
King David and Saul both dealt with Egypt
Solomon married a daughter of the pharaoh (1Kings 3:1)
In 1Kings 9:16 The pharaoh of Egypt destroys the city of Gezer (city of the Philistines) and kills all the Canaanites there as a gift to his daughter Solomon’s wife. Solomon than rebuilds the city and places heavey taxes upon all the Gentile nations to build his army and the House OfThe LORD
Solomon’s son Rehoboam king of Judah (2Kings 14:25) led Judah to sin and Egypt came and raided the House of The LORD
See how Israel associated with the gentiles and the problems this caused.
This shows how the Jews came to be hated by the gentiles (Chileans (Babylon), Philistines, Canaanites, and others. The gentile nations knew how Israel dealt with these countries and wanted nothing to do with their God.
This leads to the Burden of Egypt (Isaiah 19) and the problems in the Mid-East today.
Israel is not blameless - They denied The Holy One Of Israel and led to His name being blasphemed among the gentiles.
