Some Keys to Rightly Dividing Isaiah

Here I state theses points as fact without proof. I believe each point will be supported as Isaiah is studied.

This is not Isaiah’s prophesy, it is The LORD’s prophesy delivered through Isaiah.

Israel's history seems to have been a series of repeating events each time occurring with greater intensity. It often seems as if their history is their future coming back to haunt them.

Isaiah is not about the church.

The church does not replace Israel.

God is not through with Israel.

God will fulfill all His promises to Abraham in “That Day”

Isaiah is about the relationship between Judah (the southern kingdom) and The LORD, The Holy One Of Israel.

Isaiah is about the unavoidable 70 years of desolation coming upon Judah and Jerusalem at the hand of the Chaldeans (Babylon). This desolation is the death spoken of in Isaiah 22:14

The purpose of this death was to make their sins purge-able and to offer refreshing to Judah. The LORD promises life after death

Isaiah presents a picture of the Israel's rejection of their Messiah at His first coming, the coming 7 year tribulation, the 1000 year reign of Christ and the New Heaven and New Earth.

The physical things spoken of in The Bible point to spiritual matters
